GLADSTONE WOW - Women of the World Festival - Think-In
WOW is coming to Gladstone in October for a WOW Festival! Every WOW festival is built around the issues and ideas identified by you the community through a series of planning sessions called ‘Think-Ins’.
If you live in the area and would like to be part of the conversation please come along to this event.
At the workshop we will explore the gender-related issues you think need to be discussed in a festival program, who to invite to perform and hear speak and what you would like to learn. This is a key opportunity to be involved in the planning for the future WOW festival in our region.

International Women's Day Celebration and key note speech by Cathy Hunt
Join us for an inspiring International Women's Day 2025 breakfast featuring keynote speaker Cathy Hunt. This rescheduled event (due to cyclone) aligns with UN Women Australia's theme “March Forward, for ALL Women and Girls," marking 30 years since the Beijing Declaration.
Cathy Hunt, AM, brings extensive leadership experience as a Board Director of Screen Queensland and former Board member of Events Queensland. She's a dedicated investor in women-led enterprises and was recognized with an Order of Australia in 2023 for her contributions to arts, culture, and women's advancement.
Network with like-minded professionals over breakfast and be part of the ongoing journey toward gender equality.

A Community consultation/workshop hosted by the Central Coast International Women’s Day Combined Committee with representatives from WOW Australia to explore the possibilities of a future Central Coast WOW Festival.

With overwhelming demand from their members, the RRR Women Conference will return in 2025. Join us in Rockhampton on June 5 and 6 for two days of connection, empowerment and inspiration under the theme ‘future proofing regional Queensland’.
WOW’s Cathy Hunt will be a key-note speaker joining rural, regional and remote women attending the conference, representing local community or industry, business owners and volunteers, from the land and from the city, looking for professional and personal development in their career or life, or keen to connect with other rural, regional and remote women. WOW Schools Day '25, to be held on the 30th October is aligned with UN International Day of The Girl Child, designated in 2012 to highlight and address the many challenges girls face globally, and to promote girl’s empowerment and human rights.
This year WOW Australia will continue to partner with QPAC to host over 200 high school students in a full day of workshops, performances, and Speed Mentoring on the Wheel of Brisbane with over 200 mentors from a range of diverse fields, highlighting opportunities and inspiring diverse ambitions. A special feature of the program will again be a panel conversation with inspiring young change-makers hosted Natasha Mitchell – WOW Big Ideas for broadcast by ABC Radio National.

This International Women's Day celebration promises to turn jazz on its head with three spectacular sets showcasing the power and artistry of women in music.

In Her Name Touring Exhibition - Celebrating the lives of Queensland women & girls with side program (WOW! What next?)
WOW – Women of the World Australia in partnership with The Banana Shire Council, is proud to present "In Her Name," an inspiring exhibition celebrating the remarkable contributions of women and girls from across Queensland. The exhibition will also feature portraits of ten incredible local women from Biloela along with their story.
Supported by the Queensland Government, this exhibition will be on display at the Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery in Biloela from the 15th February; offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage with the powerful images and narratives of over 50 extraordinary women and girls identified by their community for their leadership or huge personal contribution they have made.

Join WOW Australia and British Consulate General at 6pm on Wednesday 30th October for an Evening with Jude Kelly CBE. Jude is visiting Brisbane for meetings following her involvement in the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) Future Women Forum.
Jude is one of the UK’s most powerful cultural leaders and a celebrated global champion of equality, with a particular focus on intersectional gender equity.
In 2018, she founded The WOW Foundation as a force for change. WOW began as a festival created at London’s Southbank Centre in 2010 where Jude was artistic director for 12 years.
