Joan O'Leary

My mother Joan passed away in 2017 aged 88. Mum’s life has left an inspiring legacy on those who knew her. Joan’s acute awareness of social justice enabled her to live by example. As a volunteer and friend she always was looking to help and care for others. Mum was selfless in her care for her family and the vulnerable. She always talked with kind encouraging words. Mum taught me much about never giving up by recognising how lucky we are to have a chance to make a difference.
